Why Should An Air Conditioning Unit Be Serviced?

With every spring comes an increase in temperature.  All across the world, people start using their air conditioning units.  More often than not, the air conditioning unit isn’t given a second thought until it stops working.  Long before that happens, consider preventative inspections and servicing.  Below we cover 3 reasons why having your air conditioning unit serviced is critical.

1.  Prevent Wasted Energy

Having your air conditioning unit serviced will save you on wasted energy.  There is a chance that the air conditioning process is being interrupted or slowed by things like ware and tare or debris.  This will require that the mechanical components work harder, and may result in more cooling lost through the production process.  By having your air conditioning unit serviced, you can more than make up for the cost of the professional assistance through the money you save on paying less electricity.

2.  Provides A Better More Equal Cooling

The primary purpose of your air conditioning unit is to cool your home and keep it at the comfortable temperature you set.  The ability of your air conditioning unit to do this requires that it be working at peak ability.  If problems begin to develop over time, then the air conditioning unit will become less responsive, creating more temperature fluctuation in your home of office.

3.  Saves You Having To Buy A New Air Conditioner Sooner

There is no getting around the fact that having your air conditioner properly serviced can save you in the long run.  Small problems can be corrected, stopping larger problems from happening.  This constant upkeep will ensure that your air conditioner is in tip-top shape, reducing the chance that you will have to replace it in the future.

When & How Often Should I Have My Air Conditioner Serviced?

Many air conditioning units are placed outside on a concrete slab.  Because it is exposed to the elements, it will make sense to have your air conditioner serviced at least once a year.  Having it serviced means having an expert come to your property to first inspect the air conditioner unit, and then service any issues that may result.  After that, it will need to be thoroughly cleaned to restore it back to pristine condition.  The best time to have this work done is during the spring after the snow has melted and temperatures return to above freezing.  Doing this minor amount of work will help the longevity of your project and will forestall replacing the air conditioning unit for a decade or more.
